Swine Flu and Hazmat suits, oh my!

So, my neighbor in the cube farm took what my colleagues and I thought was an extended vacation this week. Instead he announced he was very sick and probably had contracted Swine Flu. Seriously. He claims he's only at work because he has run out of sick days and does not want to expend any vacation days. Gee, thanks. Great of you to expose an entire floor to the latest and greatest influenza strain, wouldn't want you to miss out on an upcoming tailgate party!

Anyway, short of running to the local pharmacy for a facsimile haz-mat suit, I decided to fend off germs with a nutritious lunch from the local health food store. I love the healthy choices available on the hot and cold bars and the selection is dynamite. So here's to an extra dose of vitamins and minerals! Stay healthy out there!

Cheers,

How do you handle illness--yours or your coworkers-- in the workplace? What do you do to boost your immune system?

Greetings and Salutations

So, somehow I have found myself living the mostly uninspired life of a mid-level desk jockey. Motivated by a family member, I have decided to liven things up and try sustaining a more healthy lifestyle.

To that end, I recently joined a gym and an outdoor activities group to add a little motion to my woefully inert days.

Plus, I've cleared out the clutter --when exactly did my kitchen become a repository for take-out menus--and bulked up my pantry. My hope is to experiment with new ways to prepare the standards, as well as, experiment with new and interesting recipes.

My plan is to share some of my experiences (and frustrations) and create a conversation with others choosing their own healthy path!

Cheers,
LisBleu
